THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SEX COACH, A SEX THERAPIST, AND A SEXOLOGIST.

Sex coaches, sex therapists, and sexologists specialize in helping individuals improve their sexual health and relationships. Each of these professionals has unique skills and qualifications that make them uniquely suited to helping people with their sexual issues.

Most have joined their profession because they have personal experience overcoming sexual health challenges and aspire to help others in similar situations.

What is a sex coach?

A sex coach specializes in helping individuals improve their sexual performance and satisfaction. They are typically not licensed mental health professionals, but they deeply understand sexual health and relationships and have often undergone focused training to gain their coaching certification. Sex coaches provide guidance and advice and help identify and address any underlying issues causing sexual problems to help their clients achieve performance and satisfaction goals.

What is a sex therapist?

A sex therapist is a licensed mental health professional specializing in helping individuals with various sexual issues. They are trained to diagnose and treat any underlying psychological issues contributing to sexual problems. Sex therapists provide counselling to help individuals understand and address those problems through a mental-health lens. That means they often possess a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection and can work at the physical, psychological, and psychosocial levels.

What is a sexologist?

A sexologist is a professional who specializes in the scientific study of human sexuality (known as sexology). They deeply understand the physiology and psychology of human sexuality and are often involved in research and education related to sexual health and relationships. Sexologists are often consulted by other professionals, such as sex therapists and sex coaches, to help them better understand and address their clients' issues.
